V.B. Powernet designed and manufactured k-rated dry-type transformer such us K-1, K-4, K-13, and K-20 rated. Available for aluminum and copper conductor. A K factor rated transformer is used to deal with harmonic loads. The transformer sized appropriate to handle the additional heating cause by non-linear loads. The K-rated transformer works it is uses a double size neutral conductor (200% than normal).
VB Powernet K-Factor Rated Transformer
K-1 Rated – For linear loads, standard transformer, or 15% harmonic current produced by equipment.
K-4 Rated – Used for induction heating, SCR, AC Drives, or where 35% harmonic current produced by the loads or equipment.
K-13 Rated – Used for school pulse lighting, hospital UPS, and other sensitive loads where electronic equipment represent up to 75% of the loads.
K-20 Rated – Used for data processing computer room, or very sensitive loads where 100% of loads is electronic equipment
